PVC Insulated Wire for Panels and Building Projects

Shenghua H05V-K vs H07V-K vs H05VV-F PVC Wire & Cord: Which to Specify for Panel Wiring, Building Projects & Bulk Orders

News Details

Two reels marked 2.5 mm² can contain very different products. One may hold a single insulated wire for protected routing. The other may hold three insulated cores under one outer sheath. Both have the same nominal conductor size per core, but they serve different jobs.

Shenghua Cable Group manufactures electrical wire and cable, including single-core PVC insulated wire and multicore PVC sheathed cord. For panel builders, contractors, and distributors, the first step is to match the construction to the circuit. Then you can specify the details that affect assembly, inspection, and repeat orders.

Choose Between Single-Core Wire and Multicore Cord

Single-core wire lets a panel builder route each conductor to its own terminal. A multicore cord keeps several conductors together under an outer sheath. Therefore, start by deciding whether the circuit needs individually routed wires or a grouped connection.

Shenghua product Published voltage rating What to confirm before ordering
H05V-K single-core PVC wire 300/500 V Conductor size, terminal fit, and approved wiring method
H07V-K flexible copper wire 450/750 V Insulated wire diameter, routing space, and circuit requirements
H05VV-F 3 × 2.5 mm² PVC sheathed cord 300/500 V Core arrangement, outer diameter, and gland or strain relief fit

A higher voltage rating alone does not make one product a suitable replacement for another. Compare the construction, connection method, and approved use as well.

Check the Wire Against the Panel Layout

Panel builders often buy wire by conductor size and color. However, finished diameter also matters. It affects how much space the wire takes up in a wiring duct and whether the selected terminal accepts the prepared conductor.

For example, if a cabinet design specifies 2.5 mm² H07V-K, record the wire size and the maximum outside diameter accepted by the design. Then check a sample with the production team’s actual stripping tools, terminals, and ferrules where specified. This can reveal fit or handling issues before a bulk order reaches the assembly line.

For sheathed cord, check the diameter at the cable entry as well. The gland or strain relief must fit the finished cord, so conductor size alone is not enough for approval.

Confirm Where the Wire Will Run

For building projects, specify whether the wire will run in conduit or another protected wiring system. For equipment orders, describe the enclosure, heat sources, and whether the connection stays fixed or moves in service. Ask the electrical designer to confirm the wire size and current capacity for the actual installation.

Also keep insulation and fire requirements separate. If the project calls for low smoke and zero halogen materials, review Shenghua’s LSZH copper building wire against that specification and request evidence for the exact model.

Match Test Documents to the Product

The IEC 60227 series distinguishes single-core PVC insulated wire for fixed wiring from flexible PVC cords. When a contract cites this series, state the applicable part and edition in the purchase specification. A general reference to the series can leave room for different interpretations.

Next, agree on what the factory should provide for approval and delivery. Ask for a data sheet that identifies the proposed model, conductor construction, voltage rating, and dimensions. Depending on the order, agree on checks for conductor resistance, insulation thickness, wire markings, and coil length. If the destination market requires certification, confirm that the documents cover the exact product and size ordered.

Write an Order Line the Factory Can Quote

“2.5 mm² PVC wire, 10,000 m” leaves several decisions open. A more useful request identifies the model, voltage, conductor construction, colors, and packing.

For example, a panel builder could request H07V-K, 450/750 V, 1 × 2.5 mm² flexible copper, 10,000 m total, then attach the approved color breakdown, coil lengths, marking requirements, and sample acceptance criteria.

For distributors, use a separate order line for each size and color. Record the approved coil label and data sheet revision as well. That gives receiving teams a clear reference and makes it easier to spot a change on the next shipment.

Request a PVC Wire Quote From Shenghua

Send Shenghua Cable Group your wiring schedule or bill of materials. Include the cable models, voltage ratings, conductor sizes, colors, quantities, coil lengths, and destination. If you are matching an existing wire, include its full marking and tell us where it is used.

Use the inquiry form on the relevant product page to request a quotation. Specify any sample checks, test documents, or packaging requirements so the quote covers what your team needs to approve and receive the order.
